BACKGROUND
Why we are celebrating this occasion.
In the beginning...
In 1868, Queen Victoria, by Order in Council, authorised the introduction of Artificers into the Royal Navy. Their task was to operate and maintain the increasingly complex machinery and equipment of the ships in the world's most powerful navy. And so began a tradition for engineering excellence that made the Artificer the backbone of the fleet.
100th Anniversary
The Royal Naval Engineers Benevolent Society marked the Centenary in 1968 with a dinner aboard HMS President and it was felt that in the 150th year of 2018 we should all celebrate what may be the last significant anniversary.
This 150th Celebration
The RNEBS, Fisgard Association and Old Caledonia Artificer Apprentices Association, are working together on the event and will publicise it worldwide through the networks and websites of the three organisations. Expressions of intent will be of great help to the organisers.
THE ORGANISATION
In order to plan and deliver this event we have formed a temporary Artificer 150 Association. This small team presently consists of:

Public car parking is available at the London Wall (24 hours), Barbican (8am to midnight) or Aldersgate (24 hours). Disabled car parking bays are located in Aldermanbury and Basinghall Street for Blue Badge holders (after 10am Monday to Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday).
